Now, this is something you do not hear every day. The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is apparently chasing a former soccer player to include him in their roster of Superstars. The player in talks is German star Tim Wiese.

The former Hoppenheim and Germany goalie is being pursued by the outfit after he had some impressive physical transformation, adding more bulk and muscle.

"I have an official enquiry from the WWE," said Wiese per Wrestling Inc, a wrestling news site. "It's about working as a wrestler. I will listen. I didn't sh-t my pants. Why should I immediately say no? Wrestling is very popular, especially in the United States. I will discuss the offer with my agent next week."

The 32-year-old player is no longer with Hoffenheim since January of this year, thus, he is free to pursue other commitments. In that short span, he has devoted his attention to body-building at it appears those efforts are about to reap fruits. Being a national player for Germany, a country known for its love of soccer and international success adds a lot of merit to his accomplishments.

But, what is the angle of WWE on this?

At just 32 years of age, Wiese is ripe for the plucking. He can be packaged as an up and coming young brawler that can be championed by the masses. His international flavour can also be sold as a 250-pound villain who can terrorize the likes of John Cena or Randy Orton. The balloon to such weight has fuelled talks in the past of his desire to pursue a new career.

In 2012, he turned down a move to real Madrid in 2012 to join Hoppenheim, but he was lacklustre in in the first ten games of the season when he was relegated to the bench despite being named team captain. He relayed that he dealt with all the criticisms by lifting weights and in the process enjoyed the exercise. Now, he can thank that turn as a new window opens for him.
