Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers criticised an NFL fan who made an anti-Muslim slur during a “moment of silence” in the pregame of the Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions match-up on Sunday. Before the games started, teams from across the league had a “moment of silence” tribute for the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris, France, which took place during the weekend.

“I must admit, I was very disappointed with whoever the fan was that made a comment that was very inappropriate during the moment of silence,” Rodgers said to reporters post-game. "It’s that kind of prejudicial ideology that puts us in the position we are today as a world.”

Rodgers did not specify what he heard, but according to a Twitter post, a fan shouted “Muslims suck” during the "moment of silence" tribute at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. Rodgers was commended for addressing and speaking against the anti-Islamic slur.

According to the latest reports, the terrorist act has killed at least 129 people, with hundreds wounded in a series of attacks across Paris, including one outside the stadium where a France vs. Germany friendly soccer game was being played.

Rodgers finished with 333 passing yards on 35-of-61 completions with two touchdowns against the Lions, but the Packers lost the game 18-16. Green Bay has now lost their last three games after starting the season with six straight victories. The Packers face the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears in their next two games.
