Novak Djokovic revealed that his rivalries with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal is behind the success of his incredible season.

Djokovic has completed the best season of his career after winning the ATP World Tour Finals for the fourth-straight year, defeating Roger Federer 6-3 6-4. But the world No. 1 admitted that if it were not for his rivalries with Federer and Nadal, it would be impossible for him to be on top of the tennis world.

"Those two rivalries made me a better player, the player I am today, no doubt," Djokovic said, according to NDTV Sports. "Made me understand what I need to do both on and off the court to be able to be in this position now."

Djokovic won 11 titles this year, including three Grand Slam titles and six ATP 1000 Masters. The Serb added that he could not ask for a better finish of the season and convinced he has been playing his “best tennis” after the US Open.

Ever since winning the US Open, Djokovic burst ahead of his tennis rivals in the ATP World Rankings. He won consecutive tournaments in Asia and the indoors tournament in both Paris and London.

Meanwhile, Federer also thinks Djokovic has had an “amazing” season and has tipped the Serb to continue great tennis next year. However, the Swiss Maestro admitted there it would not be easy for Djokovic to repeat his incredible season in 2016 without being in top-shape.

“Clearly he's going into next year with massive confidence,” Federer said, Tennis reported. "But right now you would think it is somewhat possible, but you can't just repeat a year like this. It's not as easy as it seems sometimes."

Djokovic will join Federer, Nadal, and other top tennis players in the world at the International Premier League, which kicks off next month. The matches for the tournament will be played in Japan, Manila, Dubai, New Delhi and Singapore.
