Nicky Hilton looked stunning in her wedding gown on Friday, July 10, when she married James Rothschild. The fashion designer reportedly looked like a princess in her Valentino dress that sported a similarity to what Kate Middleton wore when she wed the royal Prince William in 2011.

Royal watchers couldn’t help but notice how Nicky Hilton’s wedding gown showed some resemblance to the Duchess of Cambridge’s dress. Hello Magazine said the fashion designer must have taken some “wedding dress inspiration from Kate Middleton for her big day.” The lace sleeves, bodice detailing, cinched waist and flowing skirt that make up Nicky’s Valentino gown is said to be highly reminiscent of the duchess’ dress. The publication shared a photo of Kate in her wedding dress, where it shows her also wearing a lace veil just like Nicky.

The only difference between the two wedding dresses was the neckline. According to Hello Magazine, Nicky Hilton’s $77,000 Valentino Haute Couture gown does not have a plunging neckline compared to Kate Middleton’s dress. Instead, as seen in this photo, the gown has a high neck lace bodies that barely reveals the fashion designer’s neckline. Then there’s also the obvious absence of a tiara that the duchess wore to her royal wedding.

Nicky Hilton told Harper’s Bazaar that she had always wanted to wear a Valentino gown on her wedding day. “Ever since I was a little girl I wanted Valentino to design my wedding dress. Valentino is the definition of timeless elegance, I don't think there's another couture house like it," she said.

Nicky Hilton and James Rothschild got married near Kate Middleton and Prince William’s apartment at Kensington Palace. The Orangery, which is licensed to hold civil weddings and receptions on its terrace, was reportedly transformed to hold the couple’s fairy tell wedding.

James Rothschild and Nicky Hilton first met at their friend Petra Stunt’s wedding back in 2011. It was reportedly love at first sight for the couple who got engaged back in August 2014, where James presented Nicky with a five-carat Asscher cut diamond ring during a romantic holiday in Lake Como.
