The New England Patriots featuring Tom Brady visit the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers on Sunday in a match-up that could very well be a Super Bowl preview this season. Not only the National Football League’s (NFL) top quarterbacks are going head-to-head but the league’s two top scoring teams are going at it as well.

The Patriots, who leads the AFC with a 9-2 win-loss record average 32.2 points per game but that’s only second place in the league behind the Packers, which averages 32.5 points per outing. Green Bay is currently at 8-3, a full game behind NFC leaders Arizona Cardinals (9-2) and half a game back the Philadelphia Eagles (9-3).

The high-scoring offences are of course mainly due to Brady and Rodgers who are within Top 10 in total passing yards and Top 5 in total touchdowns— 2,998 passing yards with 26 TD for the the New England QB and 2,957 with 30 TD for the Green Bay QB.

Rodgers and the Packers know that the Patriots’ defence will come prepared for their attack.

"Teams are going to take away what we do best, and what we've done best is get the ball to Jordy and Randall," Rodgers said via ESPN.COM. "They've had big statistical seasons so [opponents] try to take them out of the game."

After staring the season 1-2, the Packers have won seven of their last eight games to climb up the NFC team standings. Similarly, there were doubts on Brady and the Patriots after an even 2-2 start but they have since racked up seven straight games to take over the AFC leadership. New England and Green Bay are the only two teams in the league to make the postseason from 2009 to 2013 or the last five seasons.

The Patriots and Packers meet for the 11th time in the respective franchise’s history and just the 10th in a regular season match-up. The Packers lead the head-to-head history, 6-4. The last time New England and Green Bay met was on Dec. 19, 2010 with the Patriots winning by a slim margin, 31-27 in New England.
