Add NBA insider Adrian Wojnarwoski as another critic of Los Angeles point guard Jeremy Lin. According to the popular NBA writer, the Chinese-American player is all but “a one-year player” with the Hollywood squad— an observation by other NBA enthusiasts when he was acquired by the Lakers in a deal with the Houston Rockets earlier in the summer.

“I think this Lin is a one-year player with the Lakers. He’s a backup point guard in the NBA,” Wojnarowski stated in an interview with “The Home Team with Marques Johnson and Jeanne Zelasko” a radio sports show in Los Angeles. “He’s obviously be thrust into a bigger role because of who they have [on the Lakers roster], with the injuries and with Steve Nash being out for the year. You can see that Lin’s confidence is not there. There’s not a great chemistry between Kobe and Lin, that’s obvious."

Wojnarowski, who is one of the more respect NBA insiders today and one of the better sources who breaks potential NBA trades and transactions, compared Lin’s status to that of Carlos Boozer and Ed Davis, both of whom were claimed off free agency/waivers but only signed through one year deals. The writer also stated that Lin is not part of the Lakers long-term plans at point guard and just a “stop-gap” solution.

Lin is actually performing respectable enough for the Lakers in the 2014-2015 NBA season. The 26-year-old PG is averaging 11.8 points and 5.1 assists through 19 games— far from his “Linsanity” days with the New York Knicks but good enough to be the Lakers starting one at the moment. More than anything however, it’s because of lack of options at the PG spot as the Lakers have no choice with Steve Nash out for the season because of injuries and rookie Jordan Clarkson not ready to run an NBA team.

Is Wojnarowski correct in declaring Lin just another “expiring contract” for the Los Angeles Lakers? Is Lin not worthy of being a starting point guard in the NBA?
