Brandon Jennings is one of Kobe Bryant's ardent followers so much so that he professed his undying love for the Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard through his twitter posts. The declaration was not a romantic gesture but rather a deep-seated admiration for one of the game's greats, even going as far as declaring Bryant the greatest of all time (GOAT), surpassing His Airness, Michael Jordan.

It was again affirmed Wednesday when he was asked who between Kobe and Shaquille O'neal did he revere as a player given that he grew up in Los Angeles. "It was always Kobe," the Detroit Pistons point guard said Wednesday per USA Today Sports. "Growing up in Los Angeles, being around that dynasty that the Lakers had growing up, I just grew up being a Kobe fan."

Jennings has long been documented to be a big Bryant fan as evidenced by his numerous social media posts on the subject matter. The lefty gunner even said that Jordan had to win all his six rings next to Scottie Pippen, while Bryant was able to snatch two without any superstar beside him. The former European player standout also laughed at the fact that ESPN ranked the Black Mamba as the 40th best player in the league in its latest list.

The support of the former Milwaukee Bucks lottery pick was a ray of sunlight to Bryant who has been on the spotlight these days, oftentimes being criticized for the voluminous shots he takes; especially that he just passed John Havlicek for most number of missed field goals. The Lakers are mired in the worst first eight games of its storied career since moving to Los Angeles and sits last in the Western Conference at 1-6.

Jenning's team, the Detroit Pistons (2-6), is not doing so well itself after suffering several close losses to fellow Eastern Conference teams. The team is transitioning from Joe Dumars era to the Stan Van Gundy leadership and is trying to incorporate three big men into a crowded lineup in Andre Drummond, Josh Smith and soon-to-be restricted free agent Greg Monroe. The scoring point guard did well in his last outing against the Wizards where he produced 21 of his team high 32 points in the first half but still, the team lost, 107-103 behind John Wall's heroics.
