Despite his impressive 20-0 record, unbeaten American boxer Chris Algieri remains the underdog in his Nov 22 bout in The Cotai Arena in Macau against eight-division title holder Manny Pacquiao. According to OddsShark.com, Algieri is a 6-1 underdog.

At 30, Algieri lacks the experience of Pacquiao who is only 5 years his senior. Pacquiao has close to 60 fights under his belt, while Algieri has been a professional boxer only for 6 years, although he was a champion kickboxer before he shifted to boxing.

Another reason why he is underdog, according to Bleacher Report, is that Algieri had not fought so many bouts against what experts call elite opposition. It cited his fight in February against Emmanuel Taylor and bout versus Ruslan Provodnikov as two of the few worthy opponents of Algieri.

In contrast, Pacquiao has fought and beaten all the best - from Oscar de la Hoya to Juan Manuel Marquez to Timothy Bradley - with the exception, of course, of Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Bleacher Report predicts the Nov 22 bout won't be a lopsided one, but the fight taking place in Macau would work in Pacquiao's favour since he has a huge fan base in China's gambling capital. The strong support of his fans would provide the Filipino champ energy that he would bring into the ring.

For Algieri, it would be his first fight outside New York and the US, that in the end, Bleacher Report foresees Pacquiao wearing down his relatively inexperienced opponent using his relentless punching style. While it would not result in a knockout, the Web site sees Pacquiao winning the bout by a unanimous decision.

The Boxing Voice, in a round-by-round forecast, wrote that only Round 2 will be tied with a possible score of 19-19. However, it gave the rest of the 11 rounds to Pacquiao and predicted that after 12 rounds, the judges would be unanimous that Pacquiao would retain his WBO welterweight title based on a score of 116-108.
