Tiger Woods won the Bridgestone Invitational by seven strokes on Sunday after carding a final round 70.

The victory was the world number one's 79th on the PGA Tour and eighth in Ohio.

The hard work had been done earlier in the weak already, however, when he opened with a 66, followed it up with a 61 on Friday before making 68 on Saturday to open up a seven-shot lead going into the season's final major.

With none of the other competitors able to close the gap to Woods at the front, Sunday's final round was almost a procession, with the battle for second place the most eagerly contested.

In the end it was Keegan Bradley with a 67 that was able to finish as the runner-up, alongside Henrik Stenson (70), while Zach Johnson (67), Miguel Angel Jimenez (69) and Jason Dufner (71) finished in a tie for fourth on six under.

Another stroke further behind was Bill Haas and Chris Wood - both 71s - with Martin Kaymer, Jim Furyk, Richard Sterne and Luke Donald on four under.
