Former Real Madrid midfielder Lasanna Diarra has joined re-promoted side Queens Park Rangers from Lokomotiv Moscow, according to QPR boss Harry Redknapp.

The 29-year-old Frenchman is no stranger to the Premier League as he spent four years in Englands top-flight with spells at Chelsea, Arsenal, and Portsmouth before moving to Spain.

"Lassana Diarra has signed and I'm delighted to have him. I had him at Portsmouth and he is a terrific player," said Redknapp.

His brief stint in Russia did not end well as he was omitted from the squad that played in the domestic league several times. He made 21 appearances, tallying a goal and an assist.

Diarra may be the reinforcement that the Rs need after losing their first two fixtures in the premiership.
