Chelsea and Liverpool have reportedly sent out scouts to monitor promising Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Julian Brandt.

The 18-year-old just moved to the BayArena last January, but is already making his presence felt, finding the back of the net as a substitute during their 4-2 win against Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on matchweek 2.

He is dubbed to be the next big thing in Germany, representing Die Mannschaft's youth set-up since he was 15.

Presently rated at £5million, his stocks will certainly rise in the coming years, but the Premier League rivals will look to grab him early to cut on cost.

The Reds are perceived to have the upper hand after successfully sealing a deal involving Emre Can during the summer. However, the west Londoners are definitely superior as far as financial strength is concerned.
