The Samsung Galaxy A7 is to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update during the first or second quarter of 2016, according to multiple online reports.

This is welcome news for Galaxy A7 users. Pretty soon, they can begin to enjoy features Android's latest operating system has to offer such as a USB Type-C port or USB 3.1 support; app standby mode; memory manager, app menu; lock screen message; app search bar; volume control; lock down permissions; battery optimization; doze or sleep function and fingerprint scanner support.

The very first Android 6.0 Marshmallow update by Samsung will begin in December, reported Realty Today. Other models such as the Galaxy A7 will have to wait until 2016. Other units already confirmed to receive the update soon are Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A8, Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy E5, Galaxy E7, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Tab S2.

This upcoming Samsung rollout is believed to be the biggest in Android history. It’s expected to begin as soon as the smartphone and the Marshmallow OS are proven to be in excellent condition.

Samsung's Galaxy A7 is a mid-range level mobile device launched last February. It boasts of a 5.5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 Super AMOLED screen display; a 13 megapixel rear camera; a 2,600 mAh built-in battery and 2 GB of RAM, as Tech Times has detailed.
