Chelsea holding midfielder Nemanja Matic is oozing with confidence ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash against Liverpool, insisting that even the best effort on defence can't stop the surging Blues.

The west London outfit are not only on top of the domestic league table but are also leading the pack in terms of team scoring, finding the back of the net 26 times, thus far.

Chelsea might continue their dominance from last season - winning all top-flight fixtures against Liverpool - since the Merseysiders' squad has weakened due to the departure of Luis Suarez, while the addition of Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas made the Blues a very dangerous side.

"We went there to win last season and we won 2-0, we did a good job. It's not easy to win in Liverpool 2-0, but we showed our quality," Matic told the London Evening Standard.

"Of course nobody is happy when they lose a game and they were not very happy. But now is a different story. We play in a different way."

"Many teams park the bus against us this season, but we win. It's not easy - you have to know how to defend. We are ready, we are first in the table and want to stay there."

Nevertheless, the Serb is still surprised with the way their upcoming opponent has underachieved in the ongoing term.

"I am surprised of course that they are so far behind us. They have a good team and I didn't expect them to be in this position," he added.
