While Sony Entertainment is still unsure on what the fate of its controversial movie "The Interview" would be yet, one minute saying it would be scrapped and another minute saying it would be shown, there would be at least one theatre in New York that would present the film -- onstage and live, that is. The film script would be read live on a a theater for free, and for those interested on it.

Page Six reports that Treehouse Theater already announced that it would conduct a reading of the controversial film "The Interview's" script before the year ends, so that Americans would not be denied of their right of free speech. The theater house said Monday that it would offer a live reading of the film's script on Dec. 27, to provide "an opportunity for people to come together in the name of free speech, in defiance of all who have threatened it." The live reading of the script will be carried out by members of the comic Upright Citizens Brigade theater group. Interested readers can go and see this reading on the company's 50-seat black box theater.

This is response to Sony's announcement that it would cancel the said movie. The movie's plot centered around the assassination of North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un. The announcement was made after the company received terrorist threats from hackers. Sony, however, released another statement that the movie would still be shown, even though how, nobody still knows. "Sony only delayed this," Boies, a lawyer for Sony, shared in an interview with "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "How it's going to be distributed, I don't think anybody knows quite yet."

According to the company, it would do everything to get the picture out to the public; however, it would not jeopardize the rights of its employees as well as the movie audience in the process. If Sony decides again to finally just not show it, the interested public may still have access to the film. Variety reports that the online release of the film is highly likely. BitTorrent also already expressed its interest in distributing the movie to the wider public.
