The Los Angeles Lakers have been known to striking blockbuster deals during the trading season, but according to the team’s general manager Mitch Kupchak, the Purple and Gold do not have any immediate plans to explore trading options.

"The trade deadline's not for a couple of months. We'll sit and monitor our team -- make calls, take calls, see where where we are a month from now," Kupchak said, reports Eric Pincus of the LA Times. "If something comes up that we think will help us down the road, we'll look at it."

But despite Kupchak’s decision not to engage in any trade talks yet, it appears inevitable for the Lakers, with the team struggling in the 2015-2016 NBA regular season and having plenty of tradable assets.

Trade restrictions have been lifted for most of the teams’ summer signings and rookies on Tuesday, which sparks the unofficial start of the trading season. For the Lakers, it means they can now gauge other teams’ interests in Brandon Bass, Lou Williams, and Marcelo Huertas. Outside of the three Lakers mentioned, Nick Young seems the likely trade candidate for LA if they decide to look for trades.

Earlier this month, a report claimed that the Lakers are ready to shop Swaggy P. According to Mike Ortiz of DYST Now, LA is ready to “move on” from Young as the team focuses more on rebuilding the franchise and preparing for life without superstar Kobe Bryant, who will retire at the end of the season.

Young has been the topic of trade talks this summer, and the Lakers were reportedly seeking a team that would take the shooting guard’s remaining contract of his four-year $21.5 million deal.

It would be hard to find a taker for Young, who is only known for shooting the ball, but he could still be a nice option coming off the bench. According to SB Nation, the Miami Heat could use the service of Young.

“A team like the Miami Heat that shoots 31 percent from three and is making a run at Cleveland in the East could use Young off the bench,” the report proposed. “The Heat don't have future picks to deal because of the [Goran] Dragic trade, but they could probably spare a young role player or a second-round draft pick.”

Fans do not expect the Lakers to engage heavily in the trading season, but if it would be for an expiring contract and future draft picks, LA would probably be enticed to do a deal.
