Los Angeles Lakers star guard Kobe Bryant insisted that the recent conversation with Rajon Rondo over breakfast was nothing more than a "friendly" chat.

The two were caught hanging out last Saturday (AEST) before they battled on the hardwood that evening. Both the Lakers and the Celtics are on a rebuilding phase, which gave the impression that one of them is making some sort of recruitment. However, Bryant was quick to brush-off such suggestion, though, sarcastically.

"No, we get along extremely well," Bryant told ESPN.

"We see the game in a similar fashion in terms of our aggressiveness and mindset. It was good to get together with him."

"I haven't thought about having any future teammates before."

While the "Black Mamba" revealed that their discussions mainly revolved about the game and looking back at "good old memories," his admission that both of them were alike, as far as approach to the game is concerned, was suggestive that something might be brewing.

"We just talked about the game, we talked about the league. We talked about good old memories of playing in the series against each other, stuff like that -- different strategies and things they tried to do against us and things we tried to do against them," he added.

"It was a basketball geek conversation."

"From what I understand, he's an a--h---, like me."

"I think he called me an a--h---. I thought the same thing of him. Just two a--h---s having breakfast."
