Fresh off his first goal with his current club, Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao declared recently that his plan is to stay with the Red Devils “for many years” signalling what could be a future long-term deal between both parties.

Falcao is on loan from AS Monaco for a year for a fee of £20m according to reports earlier in the transfer season. But Falcao wants more than a loan to the English side.

“Me and my family are happy here and we would like to stay for many years at Manchester United,“ Falcao said via the Manchester United’s official website.

Falcao scored a goal— his first for Man U— against Everton and was key in the 2-1 victory for the Red Devils. Falcao’s goal helped Manchester United to their first back-to-back victories of the season and improved to a 3-2-2 record (11 points) for fourth place in the Premier League.

Chelsea remains the league leaders in English soccer with 6 wins in 7 matches for 19 points.

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal was glad that Falcao finally broke through in scoring but admitted that the club has a lot to work to do particularly on the defensive end.

”We are not playing good but we are already fourth in the table. That is what I have told my players. We played well for one half. We have to do it 90 minutes,” Van Gaal stated in the same report. ”We haven’t defended well. We have to improve our organisation. We have given in the second half four big chances away.“

Van Gaal, Falcao and the rest of Manchester United next play against West Bromwich (2-2-3) on Oct. 20 then gets tested by league leaders Chelsea (6-1-0) and Manchester City (4-2-1) in the next two on Oct. 26 and Nov. 2, respectively.
