Luis Suarez is back doing what he does best, not biting, but scoring goals. Missing in action due to a lengthy suspension, Luis Suarez still has the "bite" in his game by scoring two goals in friendly international match between his country, Uruguay and Oman on Monday.

Suarez fired goals in the 57th and 66th minutes to lead Uruguay past Oman, 2-0 at the Al Buraimi stadium in Ibri, Oman. Teammate Jonathan Rodriguez added the third goal late in the 87th minute in Uruguay’s easy victory.

Suarez, who was replaced in the 79th minute by substitute Christian Stuani, scored his 42nd and 43rd international goals for Uruguay.

Uruguay is on a Middle East tour, and the Oman game was the second for Suarez, who went scoreless in the draw with Saudi Arabia last Friday.

The pair of goals was the first for Suarez, formerly playing for Liverpool and now with Barcelona, since a two-goal performance in a 2-1 victory versus England in the Group Stage match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the first since biting Italian Giorgio Chiellini on the shoulder in another Group Stage match.

Suarez missed the rest of the World Cup and Uruguay lost to Colombia, 2-0 in the Round of 16 match. Suarez was levied a four-month suspension from all football activities and a set nine-match ban from competitive football. Suarez’s camp has since appealed the penalty to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) and was allowed to play in international friendlies for Uruguay.

The seemingly harsh penalty for Suarez is owed on the fact that it wasn’t the first time that he has bitten opponents in his career. Suarez’s “bites” include the ones against Branislav Ivanovic of Chelsea in 2013 and Ottman Bakkal of PSV in 2010.

Suarez’s ban will end by the time Barcelona meets Real Madrid on Oct. 26, 2014, although he will miss some qualifying games for Uruguay for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and the Copa America title match against Chile in continental play.
