Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp could be reunited with Bayern Munich midfielder Mario Gotze this summer, according to Bundesliga expert Jan Aage Fjortoft.

Fjortoft reported that Gotze, one of Liverpool’s summer targets, could have a reunion with Klopp at Anfield, with the 23-year- old confirming recently he has been in touch with the German boss. The former Premier League star turned pundit claimed on Twitter that Gotze is set to end his frustrating campaign at Allianz Arena after being an unused substitute for Bayern at the weekend.

Gotze joined Bayern Munich in 2013 after the German club triggering the young playmaker’s release clause of £37 million (AU$70.4 million) from Borussia Dortmund. The German youngster has scored 34 goals in 105 appearances for the Bundesliga giants, but has been limited only to just seven starts in all competitions this season due to a hamstring injury that forced him to be sidelined.

Liverpool has been also linked to outgoing Manchester City star Yaya Toure this week. According to Richard Marsh of Ladbrokes News, the Ivory Coast midfielder could find himself in exodus once incoming boss Pep Guardiola takes over at Etihad.

“Pep’s arrival all but spells out the end for Yaya Toure at Man City,” Marsh said, reports the Daily Star. “If he sticks around in the Premier League, it’s Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp who are leading the chase.”

Meanwhile, the Reds are in play to pursue another German youngster in Hoffenheim’s Niklas Sule. Sport Bild revealed that Liverpool have approached the Bundesliga sides over the possible transfer of Sule to the Premier League club.

Tom Olver of Metro suggested that Roberto Firmino could persuade Sule this summer to play for the Reds, who has been looking for defensive reinforcements at the end of the season.

“Roberto Firmino could convince his former team-mate Sule to join him at Anfield after the pair spent two seasons together at Hoffenheim,” Olver wrote.
