Huawei fared good sales last year and has managed to become the third largest smartphone-maker in the world. In 2015, the Chinese company released two notable launches, the Mate 8 flagship phablet along with the Android-powered Huawei Watch. In addition, it also launched the Nexus 6P and three P8 devices last year. The company saw good sales of these devices in 2015.

After tasting success in 2015, the company is set to produce the Huawei P9, and new images leaked online. Android Headlines points out that the leaked design images show a physical home button below the display. Considering Huawei's earlier smartphone’s body design, the home button was a surprise for everyone.

The website is of the opinion that the company may not release a smartphone with a home button as the design is little sketchy and given the company’s previous design options. However, GSMArena notes that the home button is included to place the fingerprint scanner.

According to the Chinese site CNMO’s leaked images, Huawei P9 bears two rear-facing cameras, while on the right-side of the devices a power / lock and a volume rocker physical buttons are located. The SIM tray is placed below the volume buttons. However, the left-side of the device seems to be completely plain, without any buttons. The speaker is placed at the bottom and it seems that whole body is made of metal.

Earlier rumours suggested that the Huawei P9 will have a 5.2-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display, and a 3,000 mAh battery. Huawei’s home-grown Kirin 950 64-bit octa-core processor is included in the devices and it is paired with 4GB of RAM. Another rumour indicated that 6GB of RAM will be included in the device.

On the rear-side, a 12MP camera would be placed. It is expected that Huawei may name the device as P9 Mini or P9 Max, and may be launched in March or April this year.
