Former strength and conditioning coach of Manny Pacquiao, Alex Ariza has signed a 2-year contract with undefeated American boxer, Floyd Mayweather. During one of Mayweather's workouts in getting ready for his rematch against Marcos Maidana, Ariza assisted the WBA/WBC welterweight champion perform his stretches.

Ariza's frequent appearances around the Mayweather gym made some fans feel that it's only a matter of time before he signs the deal with The Money Team (TMT) and as predicted he is now the strength and conditioning coach of the 37-year-old boxer.

"I signed an official contract for two years to serve as Floyd's strength and conditioning coach," Ariza as quoted by the Manila Standard Today per Phil Boxing.

The American boxer has 2 fights left on his 6-contract with Showtime/CBS and thus far, it is still unknown if he will fight beyond the end of the contract. Apparently, Mayweather has already run out of opponents to face and the only way for him to get a big fight is to decide to face the Filipino icon, Manny Pacquiao.

"I think I need you now," Ariza quoted Mayweather.

Ariza's strength training will benefit Mayweather's punching power if the coach will focus on the same strength training that he did with Pacquiao between 2008 and 2010.

Back then, Ariza helped Pacquiao to knock out most of his opponents, not to mention that the Filipino boxer was in better form then than now. Mayweather would benefit from such strength training because of the evident lack of power in his two fights against Maidana.

Meanwhile, Alex Ariza claimed that the much anticipated Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight will not happen as long as the Top Rank Promoter, Bob Arum is involved. Contrary to popular belief, the biggest mega-fight in boxing wasn't killed by Mayweather rather failed negotiations were caused by the Pacquiao team.

Previously, the American boxer announced that will not bother to fight Pacquiao for the remainder of his career as long as Pacquiao's contract with Top Rank Promotions is valid.
