The “Bachelor” Chris Soules journey in “Dancing With The Stars” ended on May 5. Though Chris and his pro partner Witney Carson were able to garner praise from the judges and even 34 out of 40 points for their routine, they were eliminated in Week 8 of Season 20. The Iowa farmer was in tears when the elimination was announced, ending the dancing duo’s hopes for the Mirror Ball Trophy, according to ET Online.

“It’s just been an incredible experience. I’m just thankful to have been part of it,” he said adding that the experience was “life-changing”. But, since this week was scheduled to have a double elimination, the axe fell on “Shark Tank” Robert Herjavec and his pro partner Kym Johnson. He and Jonson did a kiss in their doubles routine.

This hour-long result show this week had comedy sketches, brilliant dance routines by professional performers, and a beautiful musical number by Josh Groban. Josh crooned a semi-operatic version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” featuring an interpretive dance by 12-year-old dancing sensation Maddie Ziegler. In the course of DWTS, it was revealed which stars were safe from elimination and who were in jeopardy.

The first safe couple were Rumer Willis and Val Chmerkovskiy. Despite Rumer not getting good scores in Week 7, Willow Shields and Mark Ballas were voted off. But, this week on May 5, Rumer returned with renewed energy and gave a great performance with Val in their doubles as well as triple routines. Nastia Liukin and Derek Hough (and Sasha Farber) were also safe from elimination this week.

The first two stars facing ejection were Noah Galloway and Robert Herjavec. Both have had relatively low scores throughout their time on the show, but Noah’s inspirational struggle and appeal were enough to give him the edge and Robert was sent home. Then there was a choice between Chris and Riker Lynch. Chris has, nearly every week, had one of the lowest scores. Meanwhile, Riker has consistently been at the top of the leader board. Luckily, America didn't make the same mistake twice and Riker ended up securing a spot in the semi-finals. Tune in to ABC at 8 p.m. on Monday, May 11 to watch the semi-finals and Tuesday from now onwards to watch the show.
