"Avengers: Age of Ultron" is only few months away from its release date. However, fans are already thrilled to see the team of superheroes battle it out with one of the darkest Marvel's supervillains. In one of his recent interviews, Joss Whedon the director of the movie talked about the supervillain Ultron, who is being portrayed by actor James Spader. Read on to find out what he has to say about him.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Joss Whedon compared Ultron and his backstory to a classic character Frankenstein, who find his origin in Mary Shelley's 1818 novel titled "The Modern Prometheus." "It's our new Frankenstein myth," said Joss Whedon referring to ultron and talking about the growing significance of artificial intelligence in the movie industry with the abovementioned entertainment news publication. "We create something in our own image and the thing turns on us. It has that pain of 'Well, why was I made? I want to kill Daddy,'" explained the director of "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

Ultron is an eight-feet-tall robot. Fans know that in the "Avengers'" world Ultron is created by Tony Stark/ Ironman. As noted by the publication, Stark created the indestructible creature "as a superhero substitute" to save the world from evil and "serve humankind." However, things take an unexpected turn when Ultron decides to use his superpowers and strength for his ulterior motives.

While talking about Ultron, Joss Whedon referred to Ray Bradbury's story "The Small Assassin." He compares ultron to the story's character, a child who kills his parents. "I don't remember seeing an artificial-intelligence movie where the robot is bonkers-the most emotionally unstable person in the film-and who has the knowledge of 3,000 years of recorded history and who is a pouty teen, all at the same time," Joss Whedon added.

Fans know that Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, Nick Fury and Maria Hill will come together to tackle the monster, who is determined to annihilate humanity. Their mission will also involve other Marvel characters such as Vision, Scarlet Witch and her twin Quicksilver.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and more. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on May 1, 2015.
