Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claims that there has yet to be serious interest shown by any club on acquiring unsettled attacker Lukas Podolski amid recent links to Inter Milan.

The 29-year-old World Cup winner has been generally limited to cameo appearances in all competitions despite still being considered as a deadly weapon upfront.

"That is a joke. Inter Milan are not serious. There's only talk," insisted Wenger.

"Podolski is a player of Arsenal Football Club and I want him to stay,"

However, the former AS Monaco overseer wasn't a hundred per cent sure that the £18million-rated German.

"I hope so, yes," was Wenger's response when asked if Podolski will still be a Gunner when the January transfer window closes.

Should a move away from the Emirates be unevitable, Wenger hinted that it would be permanent rather than temporary.

"I don't doubt that in some situations players need experience, but that is not the case for Podolski," he intimated.
