"X-Men: Apocalypse" is almost two years away, but fans are already excited about the sequel of "Days of Future Past." However, fans must brace themselves for what comes next in the eighth instalment of the franchise. According to the latest update, the movie may not feature Halle Berry, Famke Jannsen and James Marsden as their "X-Men" characters Storm, Phoenix and Cyclops. These three actors are reportedly going to be replaced by new actors in their respective roles.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg chatted with Yahoo Movies and dished out a bomb of a spoiler. Given that the movie's plot will feature a time jump, set in the year 1983, there is a possibility of recasting some of the main characters to show their younger selves.

"If we included some of the original X-Men like Storm, Jean and Scott and others in Apocalypse, yeah, we would have to recast them because Apocalypse takes place a good 20 years before X1, which now insanely was 10 to 15 years ago," Simon Kinberg told Yahoo Movies.

The report notes that the storyline of "X-Men: Apocalypse" will revolve largely around "generation of X-Men introduced in 2011's First Class." This includes Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, James McAvoy's Charles Xavier, and Michael Fassbender's Magneto. Fans must note that the last shot of "Days of Future Past" dropped a big clue about the upcoming movie. Hugh Jackman's Wolverine woke up in the future where he met those mutants who died in the past.

According to Deadline, "X-Men: Apocalypse" will see the mutants battle their "most formidable" enemy Apocalypse. He has been defined as an "ancient unrelenting force determined to cause an apocalypse unlike any in human history." For those who don't know, Apocalypse is a supervillain of the Marvel universe. He is also known as En Sabah Nur who possesses mutant-like powers.

Additionally, the report confirms that Fox has finalised the deal with Simon Kinberg, who has been associated with the franchise since 2006's "X-Men: The Last Stand." The film will once again bring together Mystique, Wolverine, Charles, Best, Jean, Storm Cyclops and Quicksilver. It is expected to be released on May 27, 2016.
