Goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu penned a three-year extension with Paris Saint-Germain after moving to France's capital city in 2011 from Palermo for a reported fee of £3.5million.

He has since gone on to make 112 domestic league appearances, as well as 20 Champions League starts, helping Les Rouge-et-Bleu to win two Ligue 1 trophies, a Champions' Trophy, and a French League Cup.

The Italian international's stocks is at an all-time high, with a suggested value of £19million, and could possibly succeed Juventus great Gianlugi Buffon as Italy's no. 1.

"We are very proud to extend the contract of Salvatore, an exceptional goalkeeper and a remarkable human being," PSG president Nasser Al-Khelafi told the club's official website

"He is a symbol of the Paris St Germain project: to build one of the most successful clubs in Europe."

Meanwhile, Sirigu is equally delighted with the said development in his career.

"I wanted to continue this incredible adventure, both on a sporting and on a human level, with Paris St Germain," said the 27-year-old.

"I know we are only at the start of something exceptional. We are going to win a lot of titles together."
