“Suicide Squad” scooper Umberto Gonzalez has once again shared some insights into the David Ayer film through his Instagram page. This time he has revealed some details and possible scenes showing how Batman’s (Ben Affleck) story plays into the movie. According to his sources, Batman plays a crucial role in the film because he’s believed to be the means to Amanda Waller’s (Viola Davis) agenda of capturing all the super humans in the film.

Batman has reportedly been operating in the shadows. Sources claimed that prior to the events of “Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the Dark Knight is still considered as “some sort of big boogeyman that the government REALLY hates.” Comic Book Movie added that Batman is still thought of as an urban legend or a myth that criminals fear.

Batman’s “propensity to live in the shadows” as CB called it, has reportedly intrigued Amanda Waller that he’s become her “priority target” in “Suicide Squad.” According to Gonzalez, one scene in the film shows Waller and her team watching a footage of the Dark Knight in action. A dialogue will also be heard about Batman being “the key to tracking down all ‘the supers.’”

Gonzalez further revealed that only The Joker (Jared Leto) has ever really laid eyes on Batman. That’s supposedly why he is so important to “Suicide Squad” head Amanda Waller because she can use him to track down the Dark Knight. Gonzalez on his previous Instagram post said a scene in the movie will show The Joker held captive by Waller and being interrogated for information regarding his involvement in criminal activities. Aside from using him as bait to catch Batman, Cinema Blend claimed Waller has The Joker captive inside the Belle Reve prison complex so he could keep an eye out for Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie).

However, aside from the video footage it still remains unknown whether Batman will have some scenes in “Suicide Squad.” Having him as Amanda Waller’s target supposedly paves way for the identities of Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Superman to be publicly revealed after “Batman V Superman.”
