Episode 20 of the ABC drama series “Revenge” ties up loose ends and closes major chapters in the story. Emily Thorne is still struggling with the aftermath of her admission that she is the real Amanda Clarke while her father David gets ready to start a different kind of battle Both Emily and her best friend Nolan are dealing with their troubled relationships while Victoria Grayson feels defeated and hopeless.

Emily and Nolan reconcile.

Emily and Nolan had a big falling out when Louise managed to get her hands on some files from Nolan’s computer. Emily is enraged that Nolan kept evidence of their work together. Now that some of it has been leaked, she is angry at Nolan for hanging on to evidence against her. Nolan knows his mistake and admits he kept the files as a memory of the work they have done together.

Emily softens up and accepts Nolan’s apology. She tells him that even though she is angry, she understands why he did it and assures him that they will always be a team. She just needs to get the evidence back and finally move on with her life. She refuses to let Nolan help her this time around as she finds a way to get the flash drive back from Victoria.

Victoria Grayson becomes paranoid

After Emily’s tell-all interview, Victoria’s reputation is damaged beyond repair. Even with the help of Margaux and LeMarchal media, Victoria is publicly criticised and is forced to stay in hiding. Louise tries to cheer her up by taking her out to lunch. Unfortunately, Victoria gets attacked on their way out and she becomes even more paranoid that Emily is out to get her.

Margaux calls the FBI and decides to finally use the evidence in the flash drive to bring down Emily. Victoria refuses to cooperate because she knows that Emily will somehow find a way to get the evidence back. When the agent arrives, a distraught Victoria hands the evidence over to him and tells him to keep it safe. When the fire alarm sounds, the agent forces the women to evacuate. The drive disappears during the short walk down the stairwell and this drives Victoria into a major panic attack.

David faces a new battle.

Emily is ecstatic to have finally extracted the evidence from Victoria. She posed as a fire fighter and recovered the evidence during the evacuation. She returns home to tell her father the good news. Due to her happiness, David decides not to tell her that he’s been diagnosed with Lymphoma. He tells Jack’s mother, Stevie Grayson about it but decides to keep it from Emily for the time being.

Relationship issues.

Now that Emily’s real identity has been revealed, Nolan and Emily are both trying to move on with their lives. Nolan has started seeing Tom, the social worker after his divorce from Louise. They start a promising relationship while Emily is trying to work things out with Ben. He isn’t too happy with her after she lied about her identity and jeopardised his job. Things get worse when he hears her talking to Nolan about Jack.

Jack has decided to move on with his life and move to California. Nolan tells Emily and urges her to stop him. Ben overhears the conversation and learns that Emily has always been in love with Jack. When he walks away, Emily tries to stop Jack from leaving but he ignores her call. She tries to catch him at the airport but is confronted with someone else when she arrives.

Emily misses Jack’s flight and she finds Mason Treadwell waiting for her. He is demanding to know why Emily spilled the story that she promised to give to him exclusively. She now has a new problem to deal with while the love of her life has slipped through her fingers.

Victoria blows herself up

Perhaps the biggest twist in the episode deals with Victoria Grayson. After losing all of her evidence against Emily, she accepts defeat and resorts to a quick escape. She pays someone to get her beloved throne back and she puts it where she used to sit inside Grayson Manor. While Emily is away, Victoria enters the house and turns on the gas from the fireplace and fills up the house. She sits in her chair and ignites a big explosion with a lighter. She blows up the entire house while she is calmly sitting in her chair in the living room. What happens to her and how the rest of the story plays out will be revealed in the last few episodes of this season’s “Revenge” which airs at 9pm every Sunday on ABC.
