Nokia is all set to stand out in the tablet world with the company yet to be purchased by Microsoft in 2014. The most recent tablet battle then rises with the Nokia Lumia 2520 vs Microsoft Surface 2, with both having the same software to be enjoyed by users. The war is on!

Nokia Lumia 2520 vs Microsoft Surface 2: Size, Material and Weight

Both tablets look the same when it comes to its thickness level of 8.9 mm but it is the Lumia which weighs less at 615 g only. Its screen is also smaller with a 10.1- inch measure. However, when it comes to its material, the Surface 2 has less plastic look. This is because the Microsoft Surface 2 is built out of VaporMg while the Nokia is set in plastic colours of red, cyan, black and white. On the other hand, the Surface is only offered in greyish silver colour.

Nokia is certainly moving progressive with the cameras as they load it up with a 6.7MP for its rear camera with an f/1.9 Zeiss optic. The front face camera has 2 MP while Microsoft comes with 3.5 MP and both can offer high video quality. In connectivity features, the 2520 has both 4G LTE and WiFi while the Surface 2 is only limited with WiFi.

Within the US, the 2520 cost $499 but the Surface 2 is set at $449. In UK though, the Lumia 2520 is still not revealed but the Surface 2 will have a tag price of £359 at least for the 3 GB model. Some analysts estimate that the Lumia 2520 will cost £399 for the UK launch.

As for the verdict, the two tablets are similar with each other in a lot of ways. However, if you want a convenient tablet to bring with you wherever you go, it is the Nokia Lumia 2520 you should get. The Microsoft Surface 2 is more perfect to be used as a tablet at home as its purposes fall between being a laptop and a tablet all in one.
