NFL Week 2 Best Over/Under Bets

Nine of the NFL’s 16 opening-week games went under the betting total. Five Week 2 games have betting totals north of 50 points. Only two matchups have a total of less than 43.

Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers Under 47

The Steelers aren’t going to play many high-scoring games in 202w. With T.J. Watt and Melvin Ingram leading the way, Pittsburgh might have the league’s best defense. The Steelers’ offense didn’t look much improved in Week 1, scoring just 16 offensive points with 252 yards. Las Vegas’ pass rush was dominant against Baltimore, which doesn’t bode well for a Pittsburgh offensive line that has several question marks.

New England Patriots at New York Jets Under 42.5

The Jets’ offense doesn’t appear to be much better than last year’s unit, which ranked dead last by scoring just 15.2 points per game. After being held to 14 points in Carolina and losing left tackle Mekhi Becton, New York could struggle to reach the end zone more than once. The Patriots have the coaching and personnel to be a top defense. New England was held to 16 points in the opener.

Houston Texans at Cleveland Browns Over 48.5

Cleveland might get to 40 points alone. Baker Mayfield has been one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks since the second half of last season. The Browns have the league’s most dynamic running back duo, and the Texans allowed the most yards per carry a season ago. Cleveland and Houston both played in Week 1 games that totaled at least 58 points.

San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles Over 49.5

The 49ers and Eagles combined to score 73 points in Week 1. Since the start of last season, San Francisco is averaging 29.3 points per game in Jimmy Garoppolo’s seven starts, excluding a game that he exited at halftime with an injury. There’s a chance that Jalen Hurts will take a big step forward in his second season. San Francisco’s secondary is hurting now that Jason Verrett is done with a torn ACL.

Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Chargers Over 55.5

As long as Dak Prescott stays healthy, the Cowboys will regularly play in shootouts. After losing 31-29 in the season opener, six of Dallas’ last seven games with Prescott at quarterback have featured at least 60 total points. Justin Herbert could shred one of the league’s worst pass defenses.
