Google's release date plans for the Nexus 6 and Nexus 8 seem to be firming up and could happen sooner than expected as the 2014 Moto X pre-order begins this week and Nexus 7 deals become more tempting.

The upcoming Moto X refresh, of course, is highly speculated as the Nexus 6 base-model that likely will take the name Nexus X once it comes out of the box.

As for the Nexus 7, the 2013 device is rumoured to soon welcome its replacement - the 8.9-inch tablet that numerous reports said will come roll out from HTC's production lines. When it starts selling, the slate will probably be called the HTC Nexus 9, owing to its near 9-inch screen profile.

And any news, at the moment, that pertain to the two devices inevitably point to Google's release date narratives that involve the Nexus 6 and Nexus 8.

For the former, the prospect of seeing the working Moto X very soon easily tickles the Android world, which is especially true for the Nexus crowd.

The prevailing belief is this Motorola-made device will be repurposed as the Nexus 6 and it makes sense as the handset's specs and features are so far aligned with the stories that paint the picture of what the Nexus 6 would be - unconfirmed as they are.

Even if the rumours prove inaccurate, stock Android aficionados are upbeat because the Moto X Pure Edition, according to Android Central, will be part of Motorola's pre-order that will kick off Tuesday this week.

The Moto X Pure is the next best thing for Nexus fans should the sixth Google signature phone will be delayed further or skip the 2014 altogether, the way the Nexus 10 2 did last year. Coming directly from Motorola, the Moto X Pure Edition will run in near-stock Android once it rolls out.

Also, the device in its 2014 iteration will sport high-end specs plus a little of Motorola-only device features that most Android fans actually appreciate. This mix makes the Moto X an enticing product that would naturally appeal to the average and hard-core Android fans alike.

To complete the package, it is not remote that the Nexus 8 will soon follow the Nexus 6 and the latest indicator of such event is the galore of tempting Nexus 7 deals - one of them offer the 2013 tablet edition for as low as $129 over at eBay.

One important reminder though: the units available are not brand new but near to the state when they first came out of assembly lines. These super-cheap Nexus 7s are factory refurbished.

But really the most important bits of this deal is the notion that Google is ramping up its preparation for the arrival of tablet's successor and as in previous years, the tech giant is clearing up its old stocks as quick as possible.

Such move leads to the conclusion that the Google Nexus 8 or HTC Nexus 9 release date is quite near, likely set November this year or a month after the Nexus 6 or Nexus X rollout this October 2014.
