After multiple days of courtship from multiple NBA teams, LaMarcus Aldridge has finally made his decision and is joining the San Antonio Spurs after signing a four-year deal worth $80 million.

Aldridge, who was born and played high school and college basketball in Texas, will be moving to the San Antonio franchise after playing in his first nine seasons in the league with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports was one of the first to report the free agency signing. According to another Wojnarowski tweet, a second meeting with Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich was a major factor in Aldridge’s decision to sign with San Antonio.

Other teams, which showed serious interest in him during free agency this offseason, were the Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors.

The Lakers were granted two meetings with Aldridge, who reportedly came away unimpressed with Los Angeles' bid both times.

The Suns, which cleared cap space like the Spurs in trying to acquire Aldridge, were considered one of the top teams to land Aldridge but the big man ultimately decided playing with Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard and Popovich was the better prospect in trying to win an NBA title.

The 29-year-old Aldridge has made the NBA All-Star selection four times in the last four seasons. He averaged 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in the 2014-2015 season.
