Jarryd Hayne has been reportedly linked for a possible return to Australia earlier this week following his relegation to the San Francisco 49ers’ 10-man practice squad. But the Australian rugby league star may have hinted he is to stay with the club until the 2015-2016 NFL season ends.

Speculations about Hayne heading back to Australia to play for the National Rugby League have emerged following his inactive status with the 49ers. But the Aussie may have ended any rumors after posting an Instagram photo with all his stuff unpacked and displayed in his staying room.

Hayne’s Australian manager Wayne Beavis was spotted talking to Sydney Roosters boss Nick Politis, according to reports, which sparked rumors that Hayne may be heading back to revive his NRL career. However, Beavis has confirmed there is no way Hayne would come back to NRL despite the former Eel’s recent NFL setback.

Hayne was demoted to the 49ers’ practice squad last week after clearing waivers when he was axed from the team’s active roster. While some have suggested it has signalled the end of Hayne’s NFL dream, 49ers beat writer Cam Inman believes the 49ers’ may actually want “Hayne Plane” to stay in San Francisco.

“Nope, Hayne is entrenched on their practice squad, meaning they still want to develop him and he still wants a job in the NFL, albeit a less glamorous one that keeps him out of uniform on game days,” Inman wrote. “Clearly, they see Hayne as too raw of a running back, even if he showed flashes of promise in the preseason and first seven games.”

Hayne was actually “too raw” to play American football, considering that he has only started playing the game a little before the preseason. The 27-year-old rookie has a lot of upsides and potential, but his inexperienced has caused him the demise of not suiting for the 49ers during game days.

But despite all the holdups in Hayne’s rookie season, the Australian punter was able to deal with the situation professionally and stick with the 49ers.

Meanwhile, long-time Parramatta captain Tim Mannah said he would love to have Hayne back to their team, although he admitted the rookie running back is posited to remain with the 49ers to fulfill his NFL dream.

"I can't see it happening in the near future," Mannah said, reports the Sydney Morning Herald. "I'm not Jarryd so I can't make his decisions for him but I think he is a very driven bloke, he has a point to prove over there and I don't know that he is coming back any time soon."
