EA Access

Electronic Arts may be gearing up to give more services for its PC gamers, if a new survey is to be believed. The publisher may be readying its players for a new subscription service exclusive to PC fans, and it will mimic another service that it is currently offering to Xbox One players.

Bidness Etc has spotted the alleged survey from EA, and it has already been rolled out to fans asking if they are interested in a PC subscription service. A fan has posted a part of the survey, as seen in NeoGAF.

Some of the questions mimic what is already being offered to the Xbox One-exclusive EA Access service. Survey takers are asked if they are willing to pay a fee every month to get access to old and new games via their PCs. As seen in the games selection in the EA Access vault, the possible PC subscription service will also offer titles that have been released by EA.

What makes the PC service different, however, is the possibility of other publishers joining the list. Some that have been named include Activision, Ubisoft, Bethesda, and Take-Two Interactive. Games from all five mentioned publishers have even been included, and a lot of these are well-known classic and newer titles from the publishers.

More than the games, the survey also touched on questions like the inclusion of indie titles, expansion packs, discount on digital purchases and free trials of upcoming games with the option to carry over progress once purchased. The survey wanted to know the price that the majority will be willing to pay for this kind of service, as well as how many games are expected to be added to the list every month for subscribers’ access.

EA’s plan for the reported PC subscription service may actually be already developed to an extent, as the sample survey also asks if players are willing to sign up for the subscription service as early as next year. This could be a hint of when the publisher is planning to release the service.

This is not the only subscription service that EA is offering to gamers. Currently, one of EA’s hot services apart from the many titles that it has rolled out is the EA Access. Xbox One fans have had the chance to experience the service, as it is only offered for Microsoft’s next-gen platform. Apart from getting access to a couple of free titles and discounted price offers in the subscription, players can also sample games a few days before their official release dates.

This month, EA has finally revealed another title that will be free via the EA Access vault. DICE’s cops and criminals title “Battlefield Hardline” may be joining the fray, GameSpot reported. A screenshot of the teaser can be seen in the link.

No official announcement has been made yet, but the finding came from a fan who encountered the “Battlefield Hardline” page in the EA Access app on the Xbox One. Fans can expect it this October, but EA may reveal the specific release date later on. Once this becomes official, players can enjoy “Battlefield Hardline” so long as they have an active membership to the EA Access program.
