Former Arsenal Paul Merson had some harsh words for the Gunners after they wasted a three-goal advantage against Anderlecht on matchday 4 in the Champions League.

The north London outfit seemed on their way to claiming three points after scoring their third goal on the 58th minute. However, the most unexpected of things happened: they conceded three goals in a span of thirty minutes.

"I think they are tactically clueless, that's an honest opinion," the 46-year-old pundit told Sky Sports.

"This is not the first time it's happened, it's happened a lot. It's absolutely clueless. For me the manager has to get a message on, but these are international footballers, they are not little kids."

He pointed out that Arsenal still kept on pursuing goals despite having a huge advantage late in the game, which backfired on them.

"They play for their countries, in World Cups, in the Premier League, and they are all bombing forward," he added.

"Surely something in your head, if you know football, you say let's stop here, let's have two banks of four, leave two up front and let them us break us down. It's clueless as football knowledge."
