Amid reports that “The Bachelor” season 20 second runner-up Caila Quinn is the next bachelorette, fans have mixed reactions over the show’s former contestant.

At the show’s “Women Tell All” special, the 24-year-old software sales representative was heard saying that she’s definitely thinking about being the star of the new season of “The Bachelorette.” Rumours were further fuelled when she’s spotted filming at her hometown in Hudson, Ohio.

Fans also believe her statement during the last episode of “The Bachelor” was a giveaway. In her hot seat interview with host Chris Higgins, Caila said that she wishes for someone to love her just like how Ben Higgins loves the final two contestants. “What was really good for me was to see his relationship with Lauren and JoJo, because the way he looks at them – I want someone to look at me that way one day,” she said, teary-eyed. “I want that – I want someone who can’t control how much they love me.”

It seems that fans do not share Caila’s sentiments. In a poll posted on Twitter by Bachelor Nation, asking if the show’s followers are okay with having her as the next bachelorette, 72 per cent voted no.

Others expressed their support for the brunette beauty on their own Twitter accounts.

Caila welcomes the possibility of undergoing the reality TV series’ process. “I feel like it would mean a lot to have guys who actually are interested in you, and have intentions of marriage at the end,” she told Us magazine. “The cons would be that I get my heart broken again, that I open up to people who will waste my time and hurt me.”

ABC has kept mum about the news of Caila being the star of “The Bachelorette” season 12. The network also has not announced when the show will premiere.

Find out what happens next on “The Bachelor,” which will air its final episode in the US on Mar.14 at 8 p.m. on ABC. Stay tuned for “The Bachelor” Season 20 spoilers.
