In previous seasons of “The Bachelor,” the “Women Tell All” special puts the leading man in the hot seat. However, this season, host Chris Harrison became the centre of criticism during the pre-final run.

On Monday, comedian Amy Schumer took to Twitter to slam Harrison for regarding contestant Jubilee Sharpe as complicated. The Trainwreck star wrote, “There is nothing wrong with ‘complicated’ women Chris Harrison. You treated it like something she should fight.”

Schumer went on by saying that a woman should not try to be less complicated just to attract a man. The 34-year-old actress also said that Sharpee is smart, strong and a sergeant in the military. “She lost her entire family and you say she must fight off being complicated,” Schumer added.

Harrison responded to Schumer, defending himself. “The Bachelor” host wrote, “@amyschumer stop yelling at me. I'm 82% sure I said and supported all these points as well."

While Schumer seemed to accept his answer, she asserted that she had to set it right among other girls, who believe they should be uncomplicated to be lovable.

Earlier this season, Sharpe told Higgins about her tragic family history, revealing that she was adopted after her whole family died. “Ben was everything that I thought he was,” she said during “The Bachelor: Women Tell All” special. “You know, he didn't see me and my complicated past as a huge obstacle.”

Harrison acknowledged that Sharpe could not control how complicated she is. “You might be complicated, and I know you stir the pot sometimes, but I hope you realize you're a pretty special woman, and I really appreciate you coming here and opening up the way you did,” he said.

Sharpe, who was born in Haiti, opened up about what really happened to her family in an exclusive interview with People. “My three brothers and my parents died, but I don't know the details. I was 6, but I don't remember my parents. My 4-year-old little sister and I went to live with my grandmother but she had leprosy and was dying and too sick to take care of us. So she put me and my little sister in an orphanage," she shared.

Fans are wondering whether Sharpe’s heartbreaking story was the reason why she seemed to hold back during her time on “The Bachelor.” During the special episode, the 24-year old war veteran confronted Higgins on why he didn’t invest as much time with her for her to be more open, unlike what he did with the other ladies. Watch below for Higgins’ answer.
