Australia and India will resume their rivalry in the fourth and final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar series at the picturesque HPCA stadium in Dharamsala starting Saturday. With the series tied at one win apiece, both teams have a lot to play for and will try to seize early advantage on what is expected to be a result-oriented pitch.

The series has been marred with controversies over officiating and sledging, so much so that the Australian media recently compared Virat Kohli to U.S. President Donald Trump, calling the Indian captain "cricket's ultimate bully' in the aftermath of the dramatic end to the second Test match in Bangalore. The bad blood between the two young teams could prove to be a detriment during the series-deciding Test, which is expected to be a highly competitive contest.

The Australians could potentially not have to deal with Kohli in the Dharamsala Test after the Indian skipper injured his shoulder while making a diving stop on the boundary during Day 1 of the third Test in Ranchi. Though Kohli managed to bat in his usual No. 4 spot, the Indian captain hasn't been medically cleared for the fourth Test starting Saturday. According to ESPNCricinfo, Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer has been called up as a cover for Kohli, who took a pain-killing injection on Thursday and didn't bat in the nets.

Australia vs India fourth Test: Virat Kohli still not medically cleared

If India were to enter the fourth Test without Kohli, Australia would emerge as significant favourites. Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood expects the wicket at Dharamsala to be result-oriented since the home team is desperate to win the series. "I think the wicket will determine a result. They (India) need to win so the wicket they serve up will bring a result into the game. The pressure is firmly on them. We can draw it but we obviously want to win it, win 2-1 and win a series in India, which rarely happens.

"I'd love to see it fast and bouncy. But that's what they said in Pune (before the first Test) as well and we didn't quite get that. I think the way they saw Pat Cummins bowl the other day, they don't really want it any faster than Ranchi, I wouldn't think. We'd love it to be that way, would feel a bit more like home, but I don't think we'll get that," Hazlewood said Thursday, via ESPNCricinfo, a few days before the fourth Test. The fast bowling duo of Hazlewood and Pat Cummins delivered a combined 83 overs during the first innings of last week's Ranchi Test.

According to Hazlewood, the Indians are under more pressure entering the series-decider since the visitors have already overachieved during the course of the tour. "Before we came over, they were expected to win 4-0. The pressure is still firmly on them being 1-1 going into this decider and all the pressure is on them. I think the whole Indian team has (felt the pressure), and probably the skipper more so. There's a little bit more pressure on him. It's just that they are expected to win in their own backyard, just as we are at home. So the more pressure we can put on the better," said Hazlewood, who has claimed 117 wickets from 29 Test matches in his budding career.
