It has been 13 years since the 9/11 tragedy. The World Trade Center is going to rule the New York skyline once again.

Conde Nast started moving into the One World Trade Center on Monday, Nov 3, 2014. The 104-story skyscraper worth $3.9 billion is at the centre of the 16-acre site which used to flaunt the twin towers. More than 2,700 people were killed in what is now considered to be the most upsetting terrorist attack the United States has suffered in decades. Fox News quoted Patrick Foye who said that the New York City skyline was complete again. He is the executive director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the owner of the World Trade Center site as well as the building. Foye said that the new World Trade Center would set "new standards of design, construction, prestige and sustainability." "The opening of this iconic building is a major milestone in the transformation of Lower Manhattan into a thriving 24/7 neighbourhood," he said.

According to Conde Nast CEO Chuck Townsend, the tallest building in America is the "most secure office building" in the country. Around 3,400 employees of the publishing giant will eventually move into the Freedom Tower, New York Daily News reported. Townsend said that it was a "terrific day for Lower Manhattan" as he called it a "great day" for his company as well. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued an official statement which called the One World Trade Center as a "symbol of the resilience of the people of New York." He said in the statement that "strength and courage" would "always conquer weakness and cowardice." "The American spirit, defended by proud New Yorkers, will not be defeated," he said.

Sixty percent of the One World Trade Center building has already been leased. An additional 80,000 square feet of the building will be occupied by advertising firm Kids Creative, the stadium operator Legends Hospitality, Servcorp and the BMB Group investment adviser. The 1,776-foot high building took eight years to build. Three more World Trade Center buildings are slowly rising around the anchor building.
