The US Open quarterfinal showdown between Serena and Venus Williams will display a much-anticipated “sibling rivalry” that is sure to entertain fans around the world. Despite the excitement the Serena-Venus clash will bring to the final Grand Slam tournament of the year, not every tennis pro could handle the pressure the Williams sisters will face - not even Novak Djokovic.

World No. 1 Djokovic feels the quarterfinal match between Serena and Venus is good for tennis, but the Serbian tennis pro admitted the sisters’ rivalry “doesn’t make sense” to him. Djokovic, who is looking forward to his second US Open title, said he admires what Serena and Venus are doing, but revealed it would be strange for him to battle his own brother in a tennis match.

"The first thing that comes to my mind is how would I feel to play my brother, and I don't think that would be possible, honestly," Djokovic said, Sky Sports reported. "I, in a way, admire what they're doing... for so many years to play against each other on such a big stage.”

Serena and Venus will be playing each other for the 27th time at Flushing Meadows, with the former holding the record for getting the most of her older sister in all their matches. Serena is just three wins away from becoming the first player to win all four major titles in the same year since 1988. However, Venus said she will not hold out in denying her younger sister the chance of a rare feat.

“I don’t think anyone wants to be a spoiler,” Venus said, the USA Today reported. “I think people love to see history being made. But at the same time, you’re focused on winning your match even though the circumstances are really much different than you.”

Meanwhile, Serena confessed that playing Venus is never easy since the latter knows her weaknesses. The 33-year-old also said that achieving a historical record does not make or break her impressive tennis career.

As for Djokovic, he is making his own way to the crown. Defeating Spain’s Roberto Bautista Agut 6-3 4-6 6-4 6-3 in the fourth-round of the US Open, the 28-year-old Djokovic is set to face Spanish Feliciano Lopez in the tournament’s final eight round on Wednesday.
