World no.3 Roger Federer and world no 4. Stan Wawrinka represent Switzerland for its first appearance in 22 years in the Davis Cup final in Geneva.

The Swiss no. 1 and no. 2 are both playing the singles and doubles for Switzerland with Michael Lammer and Marco Chiudinelli as they face the Italians Paolo Lorenzi, Fabio Fognini, Simone Bolelli and Andreas Seppi in the hard court in Geneva's Palexpo.

"We have the opportunity to write history," Roger Federer said during a press conference in Geneva. "As a team, we haven't had much success over the past 50 years. Hopefully they'll talk about this tie in 20 years -- this is the dream for us, the players."

In the opening rubber, Federer will face Bolleli again since their first meeting in a Davis Cup World Group play-off back in 2009.

In the second singles rubber, Wawrinka will play against the world no. 17 Fognini. This year, Wawrinka is 2-1 in Davis Cup singles ties and he has won three out of four previous matches against Fognini.

In the doubles match on Saturday, Federer and Wawrinka will play against Lorenzi and Seppi and reverse singles for Sunday. The winner will play France or the tow-time defending champion Czech Republic on November 21-23.

For team France led by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Gael Monfils, Julien Benneteau and Richard Gasquet will host Czech Republic, which counts Tomas Berdych, Radek Stepanek, Jiri Vesely and Lukas Rosol on its team.

Meanwhile, the 17-time Grand Slam Champion took to Twitter to post a selfie during the Davis Cup Press Conference with the Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka.

He tried to sneak a photo without letting his fellow tennis superstar know, but apparently they found out it time as they appear to be looking at the camera.
