Most video game fans know the "Super Smash Bros." games as giant-sized pieces of Nintendo fan-service. The game lets four players choose their favourite characters as they beat the ever living snot out of each other with fan-favourites like Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Link, Kirby, Pikachu, Charizard and the occasional guest star like Solid Snake from the "Metal Gear Solid" franchise and Sonic The Hedgehog.

Book fans know "The Hunger Games" as one of the more popular books of this generation. The political commentary, interesting characters and engaging story lead to a massive fan-base that eventually inspired a Hollywood quadrilogy. The movies based on these books were a giant success and propelled Jennifer Lawrence into superstardom, while still being fairly faithful to the books they were based on.

Now what would happen if "Super Smash Bros." and "The Hunger Games" were to combine or join forces? You get "The Super Smash Games." A parody video by Machinima Prime, the video stars one of the trainers from "Wii Fitness" and Capcom's Blue Bomber "Megaman" as they try to survive "The Super Smash Games." There are various other characters throughout the video like Luigi from "Super Mario" and Ganon from "The Legend of Zelda." This sounds ridiculous at first but starts making sense the more the concepts are analysed.

The video game requires players to survive numerous dangerous environments filled with weapons to aid in combat by destroying each other with massive hyper moves and numerous ring outs until only one fighter remains. The book has the protagonist Katniss Everdeen try her best to survive a battle royale against other people in dangerous environments filled with weapons to aid them in combat until only one survivor remains. Despite a few differences like "Smash Bros." not really having a plot and "Hunger Games" being very plot focused, there are clearly some similarities between the two.

Upon its release, the video was well received by fans, with Polygon claiming that Machinima mixed the two properties flawlessly and Arcade Sushi calling it one of Machinima's funniest videos. To date the video has garnered 80,000 views and counting with 1,695 thumbs up.
