The SES is asking people to be aware of people attempting to illegally scam money in relation to the Queensland and NSW floods.

The SES is again warning people to check the legitimacy of callers asking for donations for flood relief following reports of people in the central west, mid-north coast and western Sydney claiming to be representing the SES in the collection of flood donations.

The New South Wales State Emergency Service is asking people to check on the legitamacy of callers who ask for donations for flood relief. The NSW SES is NOT undertaking any collection of funds for flood relief.

People who wish to donate to assist those affected by the Queensland floods may do so through the Queensland Premier's Flood Appeal on 1800 173 349.

People who have flood damage are asked to check the accreditation of tradesmen who approach them for flood repairs. It is recommended that only licenced tradespersons be used following reports that unlicenced persons have been offering cheap repairs that were not of a professional standard.
