San Francisco 49ers broke their four-game losing streak after holding back the Baltimore Ravens in their 25-20 win at Levi’s Stadium on Monday. However, 49ers rookie Jarryd Hayne still has limited action and did not impact the club’s second win in the 2015-2016 NFL regular season.

Hayne endured a tough game in the 49ers’ victory in Week 6 of NFL, where he was expected to earn an increased role due to injuries of Reggie Bush, Bruce Ellington, and Carlos Hyde’s niggling foot injury. The Australian rugby league star experienced his most quiet game yet in NFL, fumbling a punt after being tackled from behind by Ravens defenders.

It was Hayne’s third fumble of Hayne’s NFL career, but fortunately it was not costly as San Francisco recovered the ball and went to score the opening points of the game. Hayne’s only other touch was a fair catch inside the 49ers’ 10-yard line, which ESPN ’s Paul Gutierrez describes as a “no-no.” The former Eel also took the pitch for a late kickoff return, but did not get any chance to return the ball as the Ravens sailed their kicks over the end zone.

According to Cam Inman, 49ers beat writer for Bay Area News Group, Hayne’s third fumble this season is far too many for San Francisco. Inman also noted in his story on Fox Sports that Hayne needs to work on his ball security, which is so far a glaring problem for the Australian sensation.

“Hayne’s opportunities were limited,” Inman wrote. “That’s why it was so costly for him to fumble on his only return and struggle in his offensive cameo.”

Matt Barrows of Sacramento Bee believes Hayne continues to be entertaining, but noted that his catching problem is dangerous for the 49ers. “The Jarryd Hayne Show continues to be entertaining but dangerous. Hayne is lucky another flub on a punt return is recovered by a teammate,” Barrows wrote.

Meanwhile, Colin Kaepernick rediscovered his form as he finished the game with 340 yards passing and two touchdowns without an interception. Kaepernick also recorded a career-high 225 yards passing before halftime, and averaged 18.8 yards per attempt against the blitz in the first period.

San Francisco may continue their winning ways when they face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7 of NFL on Friday at Levi’s Stadium.
