NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is optimistic about the chances of having an NFL teams representing the Los Angeles Lakers or London in the coming years, the league top executive told the press on the eve of Sunday's battle between the San Francisco 49ers and the Jacksonville Jaguars at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Goodell said that he's very much looking forward to see Los Angeles having an NFL team again. Hollywood has been deprived of an NFL team since 1995 when the Raiders and Rams were relocated.

"It doesn't matter," Goodell said. "I'd love to be back in Los Angeles," Goodell told the press via ESPN. "But it has to be done the right way, we have to do it successfully.

When asked if the NFL is also interested on having a London-based team, Goodell replied in a very optimistic tone.

"I want both (London and L.A.), but it doesn't matter which one is first," said the commissioner, who has been the strongest proponent to hold NFL games in London.

"You are proving you are worthy of a franchise," Goodell told the European fans.
