When it comes to basketball memorabilia, nothing tops the things that Michael Jordan has worn during the time when he ruled not only the National Basketball Association (NBA) league but also international basketball competition. The sneakers that Michael Jordan has worn during the 1984 Olympics are reportedly being put up for auction.

According to the listing at Grey Flannel Auctions, Jordan wore the white Converse sneakers during the finals game against Spain. They were the same pair of shoes that Jordan has worn when he went up to the podium to receive the gold medal after they beat the Spanish team, 96 to 65.

In a news article by ESPN, it has been revealed that Jordan has given the autographed shoes to a ball boy, who refused to identify himself. A representative of Grey Flannel Auctions, Michael Russek, has verified the authenticity of the item. Mr. Russek stated that the person selling the shoes has truly worked as a ball boy and has shown pictures of him in the locker room in Los Angeles. He added that Jordan signed the shoes at the time before giving it to the consignor.

The bidding for the shoes starts at $5,000. Back in December 2013, Grey Flannel Auctions started the bid at $5,000 for Jordan's "Flu Game" shoes that eventually got sold to the highest bidder for $104,765.

On Aug. 20, Grey Flannel Auctions has sold game-used jerseys by Earvin "Magic" Johnson ($14,272), Karim Abdul-Jabbar ($14,272), Connie Hawkins ($7,423), Lucius Allen ($3,670), Kobe Bryant ($4,431), John Havlicek ($10,454), Patrick Ewing ($6,134), Larry Bird ($1,710), and Gary Payton ($1,166) among many others.

Grey Flannel Auctions has been in auction business for 25 years now. The company was established in 1989. Some of the sports memorabilia that they have successfully sold were 1932 Babe Ruth game-used jersey, Cleveland Brown's Jim Brown's game-used jersey, and Louisiana State University's Pete Maravich game-used jersey.

In addition to sports memorabilia, Grey Flannel auctions has also held auctions for a vintage Coca-cola vending machine, $10,000 bill, and slot machines.
