Manchester United imposed their will on Queens Park Rangers on Sunday in the Premier League, thrashing the latter with a 4-0 win, as Angel di Maria was voted Man of the Match for his stellar performance.

Festivities started early when the £60million signing was able to find the back of the net on a set-piece situation after 24 minutes with a curling free-kick from just outside the box.

He went on to complete his contribution by delivering a tricky low-cross that went past four defenders from the opposition to find Juan Mata inside the penalty area for the fourth goal, while Ander Herrera and Wayne Rooney were responsible for the second and third strike, respectively.

Old Trafford was filled with anxiety momentarily after Di Maria was subbed off due to a suspected injury, but Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal clarified that it was just a case of cramps during the post-match conference.

"Di Maria is all right," said the 63-year-old.

"Di Maria has never played 90 minutes until now in his pre-season and season."

"He has cramp and normally you have to play 90 minutes without cramp but that is also a positive signal. He gave everything."

Meanwhile, Colombian sensation Radamel Falcao made his debut wearing the famed red shirt, replacing Mata on the 67th minute.

As expected, he looked to do what he does best - score goals - and did just that six minutes before time, wherein he smashed the ball off a rebound inside the box. Unfortunately, Hoops goalkeeper Robert Green got the better of the duel and was able to block his shot using his lower limbs.

At any rate, it was drastic improvement for the United squad, considering that they were not able to secure a win against weaker clubs like Burnley, Sunderland, and of course, MK Dons.
