Manchester United manager, Louis van Gaal disclosed his interest in adding the Dutch midfielder Kevin Strootman to his team but Roma boss Rudi Garcia said that he must pay €100 million first to have the coveted Roma player.

Manchester United boss revealed that he will monitor Kevin Strootman's recovery from a serious knee injury before deciding whether to bid for the Roma and Holland midfielder.

"[Strootman] is injured for more than six months. We have to wait and see how he comes back. It is not easy to say how he comes back from injury, but we will wait and see," Louis van Gaal claimed as reported by the Daily Mail.

On the other hand, Roma coach Rudi Garcia revealed that Manchester United must stump up €100 million to sign Kevin Strootman.

Although Rudi Garcia recently vowed that the midfielder would remain at Roma this season, the Roma coach revealed that a huge fee is required for them to consider letting Kevin Strootman go.

"Maybe after a three-digit offer, then we will sit down and think about it," Rudi Garcia said.

Louis Van Gaal suggested he is waiting to weigh up a bid despite Rudi Garcia's statement that there is "no doubt" that Kevin Strootman will be staying at the club.

Hints suggest that the Old Trafford club made contact with Roma over a possible £30 million bid, which is significantly less than what the Roma coach is asking for. Nevertheless, the Italian club is standing firm.

Meanwhile, Kevin Strootman, who is pretty familiar to Louis van Gaal from his time as Holland manager, missed the recent game in Denver as he is continuing his recovery from a severe knee injury that he sustained in March.

According to his manager, the 24-year-old is making good progress in his rehabilitation.

It appears that the 62-year-old coach and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will have less work if Kevin Strootman will agree to be a Manchester United player.
