‘Legion’ post-credit scene teases more trouble for David

“Legion” fans are thrilled to see the next season more than ever. This is after FX released a post-credits scene which hinted on what is coming in season 2.
The clip shows David Haller’s (Dan Stevens) shrunk and trapped in a drone that was referred to as "The Equinox." The evil floating orb was sent by Division 3, which spells new trouble for David in the upcoming season.
Creator Noah Hawley has teased the post-credit scene during a conference call with reporters recently. “We wanted to keep the pressure on. ‘Out of the frying pan and into the fire’ is a pretty good approach to storytelling,” TV Line quoting Hawley as saying.
The creator also explained that they also wanted to follow the “proud tradition” of Marvel movies’ post-credits scenes. Hawley said this is to let the audience absorb the story that they have watched and then tease them on what to expect next.
In the last episode of the “X-Men”-inspired series, Amahl Farouk burrowed deep into David’s mind and eventually took the form of Lenny Busker (Aubrey Plaza). But when David gained control of his mutant powers, he and girlfriend Syd Barrett (Rachel Keller) managed to exorcise the evil parasite in David’s mind before their final showdown.
The fight, however, transferred Farouk into Oliver's body. Oliver (Jemaine Clement) is last seen escaping Summerland while driving off with Lenny in the passenger’s seat.
Hawley confirmed that Clement is coming back in the second season of the FX series. He has teased that David is going toe-to-toe with Farouk, also known as the Shadow King, in season 2 but in the form of Oliver.
The creator hinted fans will see more of the character in season 2. “There’s going to be something very complicated about going to war with yourself, really… we’ve now created a villain for David that is worthy of building a whole story around,” he said.
Meanwhile, Hawley revealed that they are not closing any doors about the possibility of bringing in Professor X in the series. However, he also admitted that it needs some corporate negotiation with Fox film studio who owns the "X-Men" rights. Professor X hasn’t been mentioned in “Legion” but it was implied that the founder of mutant group is David’s biological father.
“Legion” season 2 is set to premiere in February 2018. The sophomore year of superhero TV series will likely have 10 episodes, an addition of two episodes from the debut season. The series also airs on Foxtel’s FX channel in Australia.
