Prince William will now get to re-live the legacy of his deceased mother once the construction of Lady Diana's statue is done, replacing William III's structure in the palace.

The soon-to-be erected statue will be situated in right in front of Prince William and Kate Middleton's new apartment in Kensington Palace. The Royal Couple's new 20-room residence used to be Princess Margaret's apartment in Kensigton, where William III's statue stood right in front of.

The creation of Diana's statue was "vetoed" by Margaret in the past, because of personal reasons connected to the late Diana's relationship with Prince Charles.

"I don't want to see her staring at me every time I look out of the window." said Margaret back in 1997. The princess died in 2002, and was clearly not a fan of Lady Diana herself.

Now that the Royal Couple has the place to themselves, Prince William will be able to see her missed mother each time he steps out of the house or glances out the window. One royal insider said it was "uncanny" for the couple to be moving in the side of the palace, which is the opposite where Lady Diana used to reside.

"It does seem extraordinary that they are taking on Margaret's 20-room apartment, which will need quite a staff to run, when they have so far resisted having anything but the barest minimum of people to help them because they prefer to do everything themselves" cited the source in a report by The Daily Mail.
